Somthing to Consider the Next Time you Shop for a Bike or Accessories:
As a member of CTC and a bike shop manager, I thought I would take a minute to address the pros and cons of buying a bike and/or cycling gear online.
We all want the best deal on whatever we purchase; however, the “best deal” goes beyond merchandise itself. Service, customer satisfaction, and the ability to take care of a problem are added values that your local shop offers.
We all know the importance of a good bike fit, as well as the proper size of your helmet and saddle. Those are just some of the issues that online shopping can’t deal with directly. Your local bike shop ensures not only proper fit and comfort, but also customer satisfaction with no shipping costs tacked on for corrections and returns.
A quality bike shop offers expertise in bike fit, and employees continue to be educated about the newest product advancements. Your local shop takes pride in making every effort to optimize your cycling experience through proper fit, consideration of flexibility and pre-existing injuries, and/or helping to coach you to achieve your goals.
Oh yes, an added benefit of the sales tax from your purchase is that it helps the local economy . . . local police, pothole repair, and bike paths.
Have a great year of riding!
